Hooked on Scrobbles

Okay, I guess I was warned, but I'm totally hooked on Last.fm. Reading the biographies of what I'm listening to, I'm learning things I never even knew about my favorite artists - it just goes to show that I pay all my attention to the music and not the people. And I've been tagging like mad, and marking my favorite songs, and exploring other people ( Read more... )

Whoo, yeah! I really like her! Thanks for the recommendation! What made you think I would like her? Because you were right. :-)

um, i think i was looking at your last.fm list of people and saw you were listening to contemporary christian . . . and someone on there made me think you might like sara. (can't remember who it was right now). she is not totally "out there" but also not your typical CCM artist. a lot of unique arrangements, instrumentation, topics.

what i like most about her, i think, is that she writes a lot about normal topics that a person deals with, and how to deal with them as a christian. she shares her vulnerabilities and also points to christ as the answer to problems. plus i love the sound she has -- a bit left of center in terms of pop music.

it's interesting to listen to her entire catalog chronologically and see how her topics changed and how her music changed. lately she has been doing a lot of stuff with social justice themes, which i think is cool.

Do you listen to KLOVE much? Those songs are pretty much almost all on their playlist

I'd never heard of it until you said something. But if this is what they play, what, does that mean I have good taste? :-p

I just figured that since they're a nationwide christian radio station that plays that sort of music they might have a station in your area...but if not you can always check it out online, they have a website if you google klove, and you can listen online and check out some different christian artists that you might enjoy

Oh, when I saw the site, I figured they were just Web... I don't think they have a station around here, but I've really only been back into the Christian radio scene a few weeks. Nope, there are none in Alabama. Around here, we have WAY-FM, which I like a lot.
