That was quite an interesting speech, thanks for sharing it. It does make me wonder with any speech given by a politician, whether it was his convictions or his politics talking. Though either way, it was somewhat stirring. And yes, I know I would be interested in reading Lincoln's speech... though I doubt I'd ever look it up on my own. A bit sad, yes, I realize.

I read this, and I found it really interesting. It's a tumultous part of our history. Don't you wonder, as I do, what you would have believed given the social and intellectual environment of a particular time and place?
