Happy Easter! He is Risen! Hallelujah!

For as much as our culture has used and abused this piece, I encourage every person to stop a moment and let these strains wash over you. (Be sure you have some good speakers or headphones.) Even if you're not a Christian -- this is one of the most powerful musical expressions of triumph and joy ever composed ( Read more... )

Hello! I stumbled upon your journal while searching for fellow space-lovers. In a pure coincidence, I also converted to Catholicism when I lived in Huntsville three years ago! Congratulations and welcome home! I was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church until I moved to Florida. Mind if I add you as a LJ friend?

Hi. I now live in Oxford, Mississippi, where I converted. I am not around LJ that much these days (usually only when I need to mope or whine). But I'll add you and you're welcome to add me (please forgive the emo-ness of my recent posts, or really the emo-ness of my entire LJ, ever; LJ fosters that kind of thing). If you have an RSS reader, it might be more interesting to follow my Catholic blog at LonelyPilgrim.com (Erebrandir = "Lonely Pilgrim" in Sindarin). It's been a rough week or three, and I've slacked off in posting a bit, but I hope to be back on my high horse soon.

I presume you did something aerospacey at UAH? I was there for the same time you were (I was there forever). I was a liberal arts barnacle.

Thanks! I will check out your Catholic blog. I use my LJ all of the time to vent, that's what it's here for.

I was at UAH from 2006 - 2009, getting my master's in astrophysics and some doctoral work. I spent most of my time at the NSSTC across the street from campus so I probably never met you. Still, small world!

Heh. I very seldom set foot on "that side" of campus during those years. I started out as a computer science major once upon a time, but after about 2004 I spent all of my time between Roberts, Morton, and the library.

Did you know Ashley Campbell? She was a friend/acquaintance of mine and studied astrophysics. One of the only people of "your kind" I ever met. ;-)
