As you probably know, writing is one of the most important things in my life. This summer, I've decided to dedicate six weeks to it by joining a write-a-thon. A write-a-thon is somewhat like a walk-a-thon; but instead of walking, I'll be writing. Instead of lining up pledges per mile, I'm asking for pledges per 2500 words. My ultimate goal,

Heh. I am in grad school and having to pay for moving and basically completely broke, so I cannot contribute financially. However, yay! Good for you!

My dad went to Clarion in Michigan the summer before I was born, and he still talks about it as one of the best experiences ever. (Except for what passed for Mexican food in Michigan in the 1980s. He tells less than glowing stories about the "really good place" where they not only didn't have any cilantro, they didn't know what it was.) Which is all to say... DO IT.
