Southwest Trip, Part One - Death Valley and Zion National Park

So, in early June, I went on a big trip to the Southwest with a bunch of fangirls, and it was awesome. And hot. IT WAS SO HOT. (Though not as hot as it would be a few weeks later in that area, after we'd returned home.)

It was particularly hot, since three of us decided to start in Death Valley.

Isn't Zion amazing? We stopped there sort of as an afterthought when we did the Painted Desert and Grand Canyon trip and it was gorgeous.

Oh wow, you did a lot of stuff I wish I'd done when I was out there. I always wanted to go see Death Valley but never got around to it. And I would love to see the antelope slot canyon but at the same time I'm kind of terrified of it because of the danger of flash floods. I guess you have to go at certain times of the year. :D I have yet to visit Zion as well. I have so many of the photo books from those places because of Logres Weyr, though- I know I had a Hold based on the area.

Looking forward to seeing the Grand Canyon photos. It is an awe-inspiring place.

Such great great shots! I love the dragon fly and of course the woodpeckers. Still....remind me NEVER to go to Death Valley. Kay? *Hugs*

Thanks for these too (you'll gather I'm reading your posts in reverse *g*). The Death Valley pics brought back some lovely memories of our trip to Vegas and surrounds a couple of years ago. We never did get to Badwater, we went to the Racetrack instead (which was cold! Who knew?) but I'm defo putting it and Zion on the list for the return trip!

Thanks for going to Death Valley because I don't think I can. I feel pretty crappy when it's 80 degrees. :D

That dragonfly has me mesmerized.
