Thank you for sharing that link. I admire Hattie McDaniel so much. She always seemed to transcend whatever stereotypical stuff she was handed to work on, turning her characters into real human beings. Every time I see her Oscar acceptance speech I get weepy.

McDaniel was just such a wonder. Reading that essay almost makes me want to watch GWTW again (and I never thought I'd say that). If not Monique, then I do hope someone can do justice to her story some day.
