Advice needed!

And not on a difficult topic this time, I swear.

I'm in the market for a treadmill. If you've had bad, good, or indifferent experiences with brands/models, etc., I would really appreciate hearing about them. Many thanks in advance!

I've owned several treadmills over the years, and for me what's mattered more than brand is price. This is one area where you really do get what you pay for. The one I have now is a cheap one, and I regret buying it. The walking belt is too small, the motor isn't powerful enough for jogging, and it speeds up and slows down in a lurchy, random way sometimes. That's why I've been going to my apartment gym lately, since they have expensive, nice treadmills there.

This website, Treadmill Adviser, is really helpful. They have machines reviewed and rated by price point here. Personally, I would never buy a treadmill that costs less than $800-900 again.

Oh, and one more tip -- keep an eye out at garage sales and on Craigslist. People sell good, barely used machines at bargain prices sometimes.

I, personally, think this is a very difficult topic. Your icon is making me think it would be better to buy donuts every day for years than to spend money on a totally undelicious treadmill. ;-)
