For me, the show hit its stride this week, with decent plots and moments of casual charm that didn’t seem forced or stolen from other ensemble cop shows. Sanchez started to fill out her third dimension (loved that she finally caved and admitted to Det. Handsome that the night before had been “fun,” rather than just continued to shut him down, which would have been too cliched for me), and her moments with Fitch were SUPER. As a former “Sopranos” watcher, I was a bit worried I wouldn’t be able to see Michael Imperioli as anything but Tony’s nephew, but his sincere crush on Sanchez is completely adorable, and I like that he doesn’t talk much. They have a good chemistry that I hope the show drags out for a lovely long time.

Washington is growing on me; the switch-up with Langford was an excellent way to learn more about him. And I loved the “Trashman” case, which reminds me of Homicide’s specialty, which was spotlighting the fact that most murders are mudane and lowbrow, about personal relationships gone wrong (often in a darkly humorous way). I also hope we see more of Fitch’s hungry and Nana-hounded snitch. ;-)

And Mahjan! Mahajan! Mah-Johng! If I love him this much I better figure out how to spell his name. ::sigh:: I really want him for my very own, and I think I figured out why - If Det. Meldrick Lewis and my Inappropriate Office Crush defied human biology and had a love child, he would be it. ::swoon::
