LJ certainly does seem to be vacant these days. Please don’t all flee to Facebook, for heaven’s sake! I really, really dislike Facebook. :-( Of course, I’m one of the slackers not posting lately. I have no illusions that if I start rambling more often other folks will do the same, but it sure would be nice

2. I love that I've reconnected with folks -- and can quickly get updates on so many people -- through Facebook, but I'm never there, and don't want to be. After all the resistance I had at first, I really like the long-form of LJ.
3. Although I like Disney's Pooh voice, I prefer the E.H. Shepard Pooh characters to Disney. I admire the hand-drawn emphasis, though.
4. A picture of Maddie as well as your bionics? Please?

So much joy in this post. The trip to Beale Street sounds great and I hope you have a fabulous time.
Jealous about your MI trip. I can hardly wait until Nov!!!
Will you de-friend me now if I admit that I haven't seen the first Deathly Hallows movie?
Glad your elbow is doing well, and I do want to see pictures of the bionics (and Maddy!).
I do love my Kindle for traveling, but still am very fond of real books as well I have an older version kindle, so don't know if the expensive one is worth it or not. I think, though, that in general, you might do just fine with a basic one.
and, in conclusion: CAKE! (and all the reasons for it)

Mumford and Sons = we WERE separated at birth. Fangirl them to death.
I want to crash festivities in November. I only need a corner of a room. I bring my own aerobed. ;-)
I am FAR more into Harry Potter now than I used to be - my 3rd graders *love* it and so I am embracing and cultivating the fangirls and fanboys in our midst. We are in Book 3 and I have to tell you, I *love* that they haven't figured out who Sirius is yet!!!!
I want a Kindle.
I want cake, too!!!
Love love you!!
FYI - I do feel that FB has its uses...
