Daddy: You hurt your little girl. It may not have been your intention, but your actions have torn her apart. Tell her you are sorry. That's all she really wants....an apology without excuses. A real apology. Look at her and sincerely tell her you understand how she feels.
Daughter: I found for myself some years ago that it is impossible to forgive one and not the other. I know the very idea of her is hard to swallow, but if you forgive your Dad, you should forgive her too. They are married. His life is her life. That is incredibly hard to separate. You might somehow even find peace in the action of forgiveness.
Talking instead of exchanging, as Meesha says, would be a wonderful thing.
