You're inspiring me to look back at photos I have of you. I'm sure I can dig up something with higher embarrassment potential. Perhaps I'll send some to you...

1) I didn't know you had written a book ~ that's fabulous!
2) I finally figured it out, ever since I met you I knew you reminded me of someone, but I could not put my finger on it. The book jacket photo suddenly helped me out ~ to me, you look like Mr. Big from Sex and the City! My mind is relieved to be done causally working on that puzzle for the last many months.

1) Thanks! I've written several books, though the two VSTO books are by far the most successful. I also used to do a lot of book editing in my spare time, though that's fallen off a bit lately.

2) This guy? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Noth ? I don't see the resemblance myself, but he's a handsome devil, so, thanks! :-)

It's not so much in the static picture, but in facial expressions and such, (Sex and the City is my fluffy TV guilty pleasure which I don't like to admit to) it's just that the picture was the last clue my mind needed to solve the puzzle. You and Mr. Noth are both handsome devils, so you're quite welcome. ;)

You know, I vaguely recall an e-mail from the alumni mailing list that had something to do with "nominate an outstanding alumnus for our fiftieth anniversary shindig" or some such. It's possible that you were chosen to be the canonical 1990's alumnus by your peers. I don't know if that makes things more or less profoundly weird for you.
