My girlfriend and I attended a day of fun and awesome last weekend. There was lasertag. She was accidently headbutted, and has since had to go to three eye doctors, one of them a specialist

That is really harsh, but thank goodness the damage isn't permanent.
Were you playing 'old school' laser tag? The type where the room is practically pitch black and you're dodging between wood and foam barricades? I remember stumbling and running into people all the time in my youth. We lose the ability to bounce as we get older.
the list of "No...' was ridiculous. No running no kneeling no blocking targets no profanity etc. When I asked him how he hit her, he stated that he was wals walking sort of sideways with his head down...
Wow.... That's pretty bad. When I would play regularly (a place by me used to have weekly night long games) we simply weren't allowed to climb anything, run full speed like a pansy, or punch people in the face. I used to wear my coat over the vest, so you could only get the front torso sensor. It was the same lot of us every week though, so we all just fucked around pretty much.
Seriously though, that's a rediculous thing to have happen to her. I feel bad, and hope she gets better quickly, and he gets a good dose of the kharma. Does she atleast get an eye patch?
Laser tag is one of those games that has the potential for a lot of injuries even when following the rules, because you (a) are dodging around a maze in near dark (b) you're entirely zoned into what you and you alone are doing in order to lock on to a target and/or dodging to avoid laser fire (c) back when I played, the headset was the easiest target because that was always the one body part sticking out. So the game was basically wack-a-mole with people dodging back and forth behind the same barricade to get their head out of shot.
