4 ½ months later....

Giles looked out at the London streets as he did every morning. He sipped at his tea and watched the people from the window of his flat. He looked on not really seeing anything in front of him. It was raining like it was most days and for Giles, it was like the sun was gone, the rain

Ah . . . the angsty, angst-angst continues. Buffy and Giles are so wound up in worry and stress, and Willow isn't exactly helping - calling Angel - what was she thinking?? At least she also called Giles. Glad Buffy is smart enough, even though upset, to pass on the Angel thing and wait for her one true man.

I really like your mature and helpful Dawn. So many times she is written as a whiny nuisance. Her Key reference was very well stated and I think it helped Buffy cope.

Looking forward to when you get Buffy and Giles together and they can start to work some of this out!

Woo! I've finally caught up. :) I am very interested in seeing where this goes. And I seriously want to slap the Scoobies around at the moment. Especially Willow.

Ah, thanks. Yes, Willow has a good bit of growing to do in this story. As for the rest of the scoobies, well, they are only seeing what they want to.

Glad you caught up on SOG. Lol. It was a nice ride.

This is definitely an intriguing start, and I'm excited to read more. I'm curious to see what other subtle changes you will be making to the canon version of events, and how the characters grow throughout the remainder of the story.

Honestly, I can see why Willow would have contacted Angel-- she would obviously think that he might be able to help Buffy since he went through something similar himself. I did find myself wondering about Spike... will he be popping up to make trouble at some point?

As for Giles and Buffy? Oh yes, the angst is palpable and I suspect things may get worse (or at the very least more awkward) before they get better.

Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to properly participate in SoG this year, but I'm glad I happened upon your fic. It's always great to see new authors around the place! :)

Wow. Thanks. I actually am kind of new to the fandom..well kind of. I always love Buffy and Giles together but knew nothing about SOG until this year. I am hoping to next the next part up soonish. I have no idea how long this will be, so stay tuned.

As for Willow, as infuriating as she is, she did have Buffy's best interest at heart. She called because she thought Buffy would want Angel to know. Plus, it just needed to be done.

For Spike, I have big plans for this story and if he appears, he won't be a big part. I love Spike in the earlier seasons but when he falls for Buffy, he kind of loses his interest for me. I do love James Marsters as an actor though.

Oh, I 100% agree about Spike! I always thought it was so disappointing, what happened with his character. As you said, he was so much more interesting before he 'fell' for Buffy. :P

I'm definitely a Buffy/Giles shipper myself, so of course I'm looking forward to that aspect of your story.

Glad you wandered across SoG-- it's a great place to meet new people and sort of get a further introduction into the Giles-y part of the fandom.

Sorry this is late. Great first chapter. Loved the moment between Buffy and Dawn, and Dawn's new maturity. Willow is being very frustrating, of course. Willow seems to have been expecting Buffy to shower her with thanks and praise, then everything would go back to normal. At least Anya had something to offer Buffy that was actually helpful.

Thank! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I love Dawn I think after everything she had been through, she would have matured more so than the series made her.
