Masterpost Chapter 5
So, waking up cuddled with Ryan has got to be the best thing ever. I mean, he always sleeps in the bed with me when he stays over, but it’s different now. We kissed. And I just want him. I want him to be mine. And I know that they always say friends should never date, because if things don’t work out, it’ll never be the same again. But Ryan and I need each other too much to ever let anything ruin our friendship. We can get past anything. As I’m thinking about how to ask him what we are now, I feel him stirring beside me. His face is buried in my neck and his arm is wrapped around my stomach, and my left arm is around him. He lifts his head up and smiles at me shyly. He stretches, then gets off the bed and goes over to my dresser to open the drawer he keeps some of his clothes in, (seriously, that’s how often he stays over) and then he bounces into the bathroom that’s attached to my room.
I look at the clock, and it’s still twenty minutes before I usually get up, so I just stay in bed. A few minutes later, the bathroom door opens and before I can even look up, Ryan jumps on top of me, straddling me, and kisses me. I make a surprised sound and he laughs and pulls away. “I didn’t want to kiss you with morning breath,” he murmurs, smiling.
“Oh God, so you decided to kiss me while I have morning breath?” I say, horrified. He giggles a little.
“You’re fine, don’t worry.” Before I can protest, he’s kissing me again, desperately. I don’t even know if I'm doing it right, because last night when he kissed me was my first kiss, and I have no idea what I’m doing. Not that I have anything to compare him to, but Ryan is seriously an amazing kisser, and he’s only ever kissed that one guy once. He must just be naturally good at it. He brings his hand up to my cheek as he pulls away.
“So…you do like me, right? You have feelings for me?” I just stare at him, because really? I’m kissing him, aren’t I?
“Well, obviously. I wouldn’t be kissing you if I didn’t, silly,” I murmur as I play with his hair. He smiles and leans down to kiss me again.
“I love kissing you. I always wondered what it would be like, and it’s pretty awesome,” he says. “I’ve always loved your lips; they’re perfect. And you’re a really good kisser too.” He’s starting to sound extremely seductive, and now he’s biting his lip. Well, that’s just about the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life.
“I love it when you bite your lip when you’re nervous. It’s so cute,” I tell him, and he blushes.
He leans down and starts kissing my neck softly, making his way up until he reaches my face. “I just wanna be with you, Brendon. You just make me so fucking happy. I’m always happy with you. You don’t even have to do anything, just looking at you makes me smile. You’re just…you’re perfect, and I just want you to be all mine.” Is he saying what I think he’s saying?
“Ryan Ross, are you asking me to be your boyfriend?” I ask playfully as I snake my hand that isn’t in his hair around his waist. He seems to be thinking about it, but then he looks and me shyly and nods.
“Well,” I sigh dramatically and pretend to be seriously giving it thought. “Only if it means we get to make out and holds hands all the time now,” I finally say.
He beams at me. “Definitely. So…what about school? Are we going to have to keep it a secret?” His smile falters a little as he says it.
I frown. “No, of course not. I don’t give a fuck what anyone thinks. Plus, I want to show you off.” I wink at him and grin. He seems to be happy with that answer, and this time I’m the one who leans up to kiss him. He makes a humming sound in content, and I let both my hands rest on his hips. Finally, I can touch them, because they’re mine now. “Love your hips…so damn sexy,” I murmur against his lips. He smiles.
“My hips?” he says, surprised. “What about your hips? You actually have hips, and they’re perfect. They’re my favorite thing about your body actually. Besides your eyes…or your lips. Damn, everything about you is my favorite.” He’s giving me a sexy look that I’ve never seen him make before. How the fuck did I get so lucky? He’s perfect.
“You’re perfect.” I have a habit of saying everything I’m thinking sometimes.
He beams and leans down to kiss my cheek. “C’mon, time to get up,” he says.
“We’re so telling the guys today,” I smile proudly at him. “Well, first I’m gonna tell them I’m gay, then we should just start making out or something…I’m sure they’ll catch on.”
He laughs. “I wonder what they’re gonna say. William seems to find it pretty amusing.”
“Oh, he already knows…” I say sheepishly. “Well, obviously not about us dating, because that kinda just happened,” it makes me giddy to say it out loud. Dating. “But he knows that I’m gay, and he knows how I feel about you.”
“What? When did you tell him?”
“Yesterday in music while you were sleeping,” I reply matter-of-factly.
“Huh,” he says. “And what did he say?”
“Well, put it this way. I wasn’t ever going to tell you how I felt about you until I talked to him. Then I decided to do it last night, but you beat me to it.” I smirk at him. “William’s going to have a field day when we tell him. And oh God, Genevieve!” I laugh. “She was just saying yesterday that we’d be a cute couple. How did everyone see this but me? First Patrick, then her, and apparently William knew all along.”
“Yeah, I’ve been thinking the same thing,” he replies, smiling at me. “We’re pretty stupid, huh?”
I nod and walk over to him so I can kiss him again. “Now that I know what it’s like to kiss you, I’m going to be doing it all day, just so you know,” I say, grinning at him.
“Trust me, that is not a problem,” he bites his lip. “We’re going to be late if we keep getting distracted like this, though.”
“Right,” I say, smiling. “I won’t do it again.”

We ended up being fifteen minutes late.
I can’t help it that he’s so damn attractive, and he distracts me every single time I look at him.
We’ve made it through the first half of the day without molesting each other in the hallway. Only because we don’t want to tell anyone until lunch, so we can tell them all at the same time.
The first person to get to the table is William. He sits down and smiles at us. He must notice how we’re sitting way closer than usual and the smiles that have been permanently etched onto our faces, because he smiles even wider and says to me, “You did it.”
I grin and shake my head and nod it toward Ryan. William’s eyes widen.
“You did it?” he asks bemusedly. Ryan smiles shyly and nods.
William beams and says, “Brendon Urie, you better tell me the whole story right now.” I look at Ryan, who nods, and then I start.
“Well, I had planned on telling him, but he beat me to it. He had me freaking out because he told me he liked somebody, but he didn’t know how to tell them. So, even though I was dying on the inside, I told him that he should just tell the guy that he makes him happy. So he gets up, walks over to me, sits on my lap, and tells me that I make him happy. Then he kissed me. This morning he asked me to be his boyfriend, so now we’re boyfriends, and we were late to school ‘cause we kept kissing every five minutes.”
William flails a little and bounces up and down. I think that’s the most excited I’ve seen him get over anything. “Oh my God, Ryan, how adorable can you be? That’s like, the cutest way to tell someone you like them ever. I have to say, I never thought you’d make the first move.”
Before we can say anything else, the other three arrive at the table.
They all greet us and we’re all chatting for a while before I clear my throat and say, “Hey, guys, I have something kinda important to tell you.” They all turn to look at me.
“Dude, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” Spencer asks in his worried mother tone.
“It’s clearly not bad, look how happy he looks,” Jon adds in.
“Yeah, you two are starting to creep me out with all your smiling,” says Gabe.
William looks like he’s going to spontaneously combust any moment now, so I finally get on with it.
“I’m gay,” I state simply. Gabe gapes at me, speechless. Jon just looks completely taken aback. Spencer looks unfazed.
“Yeah, I know,” he states indifferently. He looks at my stunned expression and says, “I figured it out in creative writing yesterday.” There’s that damn smirk again.
“Well, that brings me to part two of what I have to tell you.” They all look at me again.
“Ryan and I,” I say, gesturing to the two of us, “we’re…y’know, together. As of this morning, and…yeah…” I trail off. Spencer, again, looks indifferent. Gabe and Jon still look completely shocked, like they never would’ve ever expected this.
“Well, if you guys are happy, then I’m cool,” Jon says with a smile after he let it sink in for a moment. I sign to Ryan what he said, and then he smiles too.
“You two…are just…” Gabe starts. I don’t know what he thinks of this. His face is unreadable. I don’t think he’s too happy. “You’re both just…so fucking cute!” Now he’s smiling. “Seriously, how cute. You’re like, each other’s other half.” I let out a long breath that I didn’t know I was holding in. I’m so relieved now, because my four best friends are all okay with this, and I don’t have to worry about it anymore.
“You guys are really okay with it?” I ask quietly. They all nod, and I beam. So does Ryan.
“Well, that’s a relief. I don’t give a fuck what anyone else thinks, they can deal with it. Also, we’ll probably be making out around you guys all the time now, so you can deal with that,” I smirk. Ryan just giggles. Then he laces our hands that are on the table together and bites his lip. He’s making it really hard not to jump him, right here.
So instead, I opt for just kissing him. Everyone else has gone back to chatting away by now. Ryan makes a pleased sound and smiles against my lips. Then the guys all start whistling and making catcalls. I pull away and start blushing. Ryan giggles, kisses my cheek, and leans his head on my shoulder.
Gabe flails and shrieks, “God, seriously. You two are so perfect together. Just-so adorable. I can’t even-I can’t.” I laugh at him because he’s so eccentric. I never thought he’d be the one to fawn over us like this. I didn’t think any of them would, actually.
“Whoa, Gabe,” Spencer says amusedly, “stop fangirling over there. You look like you’re about to fall over and die.”
We all laugh at Gabe’s expense while he stares at Ryan and me with a loving expression. I don’t think I could be any happier right now.

All throughout creative writing, Genevieve kept smirking at us holding hands like, yeah, I thought so.
Music is pretty great today, because Ryan and I get to lie all over each other on the floor. Today, William invited that cute girl, Lana, to sit with us. All she’s been doing is telling us how cute we are and squealing every time we kiss. Why is everyone so excited about us? I don’t get it. I know we’re cute, but I didn’t know we were that cute.
William and Lana are sort of dating. But they haven’t made it official or anything. He’s leaning back on a beanbag, and she’s sitting beside him, leaning on his shoulder. Ryan is sitting on a giant cushion and I’m lying on one beside him with my head in his lap while he runs his fingers through my hair. I couldn’t be any happier right now. He’s perfect. So fucking perfect, and he’s mine.

“So, we’re really telling your mom when she gets home?” Ryan asks.
“Yeah,” I smile at him. We’re lying on the couch in the living room watching one of those weird shows on TLC. I’m just completely on top of Ryan. He’s comfortable.
“Mm, you’re warm,” Ryan murmurs. I turn my head away from the TV to look at him. He’s staring at me, biting his lip. And that does it. I move up a little so my head is level with his, and I kiss him. It’s light and soft at first, but then he parts his lips and presses closer, deepening the kiss. Our lips mold together perfectly, like they were made to fit together. Ryan swipes his tongue across my bottom lip, surprising me. I know what he wants, so I tentatively open my mouth. He effortlessly slides his tongue into my mouth, making me gasp. Our tongues are moving together, and our kiss is starting to get faster, more frantic, and it’s amazing. I always thought having someone's tongue in your mouth would be gross, but it’s not. Ryan moves one of his hands from my hip onto my ass and squeezes, making me laugh suddenly. He smiles against my mouth.
“Brendon, I’m home!” my mom calls from the hallway. Shit, how did I not hear her come in?
I abruptly pull back and get off of Ryan. He looks at me confused, and then my mom walks in and he mouths, ‘oh’ and tries not to laugh at our appearances; disheveled and red-faced.
“Hey, guys!” my mom greets us cheerily.
“Hey, mom. Can you come sit down for a minute? We wanna talk to you,” I ask. She looks worried. “It’s nothing bad,” I assure her, and she slowly sits down on the chair across from us.
“Okay then, what’s up?” she asks with a curious look.
“Mom, I’m just gonna get straight to the point.” I take a deep breath and glance at Ryan, who’s smiling at me supportively. I look back over at my mom as I say, “So, I’m gay.”
Her eyes get huge, and she just stares for a second.
“H-how long have you known?” she asks.
“Not long. I just figured it out recently,” I reply.
She thinks for a minute, and then says, “Are you absolutely sure?”
“Yes,” I reply instantly. Slowly, a smile makes its way onto her face.
“Okay,” she says simply. “I’m really surprised, but you know I support gay people,” she grins as she looks at Ryan.
“I have a boyfriend,” I tell her shyly. She smiles again.
“Really? Well I need to meet him, then. Will I be seeing him around a lot?”
I smile as I wrap my arm around Ryan’s waist. “Yeah, practically every day,” I tell her. She stares a minute before she starts giggling in excitement.
“Oh my God, please tell me you aren’t playing some kind of trick on me,” she says. We shake our heads. “You two are together?” she inquires. We nod in unison. She shrieks, “Oh my God, this is so great! I can’t think of anyone else that I’d rather you be with,” she smiles sweetly at Ryan. “Although, I can’t help but feel as if my two sons are dating,” she laughs. Ryan and I roll our eyes at her and I scoff.
“Gross, Mom.” She just laughs and sighs contentedly.
This day is perfect.

“I love cuddling with you,” Ryan sighs happily. We’re completely tangled together.
“Me too,” I say, smiling at him adoringly. He grins and rolls so he’s half on top of me. He presses a soft kiss to my neck. And then another, and another. He’s kissing down my neck and over my collarbone, just showering me with kisses, and I love it. He moves to my jaw, kissing his way up until he reaches my lips, where I beat him to it and surge forward, earning a soft giggle from him. He moves his soft lips against mine while I thread my fingers through his hair. I break apart to breathe, and then he attaches his mouth to my neck again, this time sucking gently on a spot that makes me moan quietly. I know he’s leaving a mark, but I don’t care. I want him to. He leans up and presses another soft kiss to my lips before he wraps his arms around me and buries his face in my neck, whispering, “Night, Bren.” I smile and kiss his cheek before snuggling him, a single thought in my head before drifting off. I could do this forever.
