How the Valley put Obama over the top

Fake Steve Jobs is almost always funny, but the final paragraph of this blog entry, and especially the last half of the paragraph, talking about how the Silicon Valley types are getting it done with fundraising for Obama, is a tour de force:

California...we're where your future comes from.

I have to be honest: the biggest appeal Obama has for me is twofold:

1) it represents a manifest rejection of the boomers, and all their pomps, and all their works, and etc etc (specifically a refusal to refight the Vietnam War by proxy AGAIN in the persons of Clinton and McCain)

2) it takes a ginormous Duce Staley on the idea that somehow, a bunch of pellegra-infested brother-fuckers are God's chosen people and have to be courted assiduously and catered to in every way if you want to succeed politically. My dream is that McCain '08 looks like Goldwater '64 in the end: red in Arizona, red in the heart of the hookworm belt, and bright shiny blue everywhere else. I know it won't happen, but you never know...especially once massive black turnout puts the Deep South back into play and the NRC has to devote resources to hanging onto the base. (And we've seen how well they hung on in LA-06 and MS-01...)

Besides, he had me for good at the Jay-Z reference ;]

Gee, I can't decide which icon to use, the tall blonde and evil one, or one of my many San Francisco ones. I think I'll go for the former. =)
