The flu does kill. People are desensitized to it, but it actually kills quite a few people. Not talking just H1N1--seasonal influenza is the number 8 killer of caucasians, and it's pretty high up with other races, too. I vote for people to stay the hell off airplanes if they have the flu.

:-P Not when "thinning the herd" means people with secondary conditions. Like me. I'm not really for that.

No one's said anything about kids so I will. ;) I think the problem is that there's not enough attention or discipline in parenting. It doesn't really matter how you go about it ( ... )

Just catching up on posts so forgive the delayed comment...
Just on point 3, my partner works for a domestic airline over here so I hear a lot of horror stories from dealing with awful/feral/rude/aggressive passengers. It's given me a new perspective on airlines since meeting him a few years ago. His airline has a policy on sickness, if a passenger looks particularly unwell, they have a doctor on call to assess the passenger's health. What annoys me is when the passenger then gets irate when they're told they cannot fly for the safety of other passengers. I've heard of one incident when one guy tried to break through security demanding to get on the plane, in the process knocking my partner to the ground. At least the airline in question tries to rearrange flights at no/minimal cost if they are refused boarding. But you're right - people should take responsibility for their own health and those of other travelers.
Random comment over...lol

good on his airline! I think that's a great solution and I'm sure that doctor is not cheap!
