Has anyone ever attempted to calculate the half-life on vertical transmission (parent to child) of memes? There may be so many variables as to make such a calculation impossible, but I'm just curious...
I asked my friend bloodstone69 his opinion on this (because he's way brilliant) and his reply was: Yes, I'd expect that to be very complex, and I'm not sure if it's possible to calculate, but I would expect that some of the main variables would be the family cultural values, the more expansive cultural values wherever this is taking place, and the degree of flexibility vs. rigidness with which particular memes are transmitted. For one example, I expect that highly rigid transmission may generally provoke a natural response toward questioning the memes.
