I can foresee a bunch of people on Digg and places like that getting all clever and going for the post-apocalyptic critique of science and all that "we shouldn't have meddled!" type shit (and seeing people who don't believe in science playing "gotcha"), but this is different from like a mad scientist creating a monster from the parts of cadavers or scientists creating a nuclear bomb.

Believe it or not, it seems to be getting past peer review with only minor modification.

I am constantly amazed by the intense craziness of high end physics. This is seriously fucked up shit.
