Just a historical correction - Saddam had been in power for years when Bush Sr came into office. Reagan and Bush gave him weapons, and were certainly guilty of turning a blind eye when he committed atrocities because they wanted him on their side versus Iran, but they didn't put him in power.

I loathe the current Bush and his policies, and I think history will judge him our worst president ever - but I don't believe in getting history wrong to back up what's going on.

If Saddam was going to hang, it rightly should have 20 years ago at the height of his evil dictator power, for the crimes he committed then. After all, he was convicted and hanged for what he did to the Kurds in 1982.

I too suspect that Sheck is correct. . .
