Who is it you're trying to impress? Who is out there gauging mediocrity or greatness? They're all subjective terms. From your perspective, you might feel that you're decent or merely competent at everything, but I think there are many more that would say you're already living quite a fortunate life.
What is greatness? A thought. An opinion. An annotation in a history book. It can come immediately or 500 years after you die. It changes in the eye of the beholder. It can't be measured.
Greatness, if it really exists, cannot be manufactured, purchased or learned. It will shine naturally.
