We had a year like that last year. We were picking both Chanterelles and Funnel Chanterelles (Craterellus tubaeformis) on Christmas Eve.

Craterellus tubaeformis, we don't get those up here, only the yellow ones. The danger here is frost and de-frosts over several days which can leave mushrooms full of toxics. This didn't happen this time, Dieu merci !
