I don't know how many of you really need to know this, but on Saturday I managed to screw up my right foot, so my mobility is currently a bit reduced. I can't easily walk very far or stand for very long, although I do have a cane that helps a little

(only related to your icon of choice) I had a dream this past weekend that Toilet Kitty and I went on a long road trip together. I vaguely remember that he was talking-up an antique dealer at this one shop we stopped to visit and soon got into trouble. I was annoyed and proud of him at the same time: proud that he is an outlaw kitty, annoyed that I wasn't going to get a price break on the things I wanted to buy in the shop. ...and I kept thinking, "wow, he's into trouble and we aren't even halfway across the country yet - what else is in-store?"...

I sure do love Toilet Kitty.

Man that sounds like it really hurts. I can honestly say that I have never heard of anyone having a rope burn on the bottom of their foot, so you well carry a special place in my hurt.

Not exactly the bottom of the foot, fortunately. I misspoke when I said 'instep'; it's actually sort of a line that starts at the top of the instep, and wraps up to the top of the foot. Inconveniently about one inch longer than the cool high-tech bandages sold at our CVS, but small enough to cover with a regular nonstick pad. Which, incidentally, works a lot better than the old 'telfa' pads used when I was a kid.

Don't even get me started on the multiply-scarred left elbow...

As for the pix, it'll have to be tomorrow - seems I forgot the USB-to-compactflash adapter when I left the house this morning... :/

(BTW, I did find our spare cable modem, but not the ac adapter for it. Are you still in need, or are you going with a router instead?)

actually, i think i am going with a router. until BD leaves next month, we HAVE a wireless router, so right now all i'd need would be a USB adaptor. (i dunno whether my 'puter is too old for a wireless card...) but thanks for finding that for me! my brother's pretty sure that if we hook up a 2nd modem, the cable company will charge us for 2 connections, so no dice there. see forthcoming post about options...

i will eagerly await the pictures. 'cause i'm all about the disgusting injury pics. >:) hope it heals quickly, though!
