so i heard there was a large jewish community up at northwestern. my friends in the interfaith youth core who are jewish both go there and were going to have us all over for meals and stuff...
i don't know if you're interested.
and i'm not saying this to offend you or anything, i'm just saying if you want a better sense of community, it's out there.

well we have a hillel here at depaul, and a fairly active one. I mean we got well over 1200 people for yom kippur services, and the u of chicago hillel is allied with ours. I hope things aren't as terrible as they seem. I know we Catholics can be overbearing and forceful and etc etc etc supply your own adjective in here, but most of us mean well. Especially me and my Regina sister above.
So like I said to my friend Evan who has been taking his seder at Hillel here at UofM with pretty much all of my other Jewish friends (see you're not the only Jew I know now) Happy Passover.
Hopefully that's not too politically incorrect for your tastes.
Yeah S.E. Michigan had all the important stuff: Jews, Arabs, black people, Poles, etc... kinda feels weird to be uprooted.
My boss' husband is the only Jew in his family yet he still celebrates Passover- I guess with his family or something. Maybe you could invite a few of your closest friends there and sort of bond over this. They won't understand at first but I'm sure they'll try their best. I hope you don't mind my suggestion, with me being an atheist and all.
oh when I moved here this girl invited me to those things and I wanted friends so I didn't turn her down. It was really awkward. It was one of those militant Christian churches that talked about burning in hell and all that fun stuff... intimidating ):
