i just don't understand why the catholic church is so against gay marriages. they (and many other people) talk about how it's going to destroy the term "family". gay and lesbians aren't going to be marrying anyone of the opposite sex anyway, and they're going to have relationships just like straight people, they're going to still live together

I agree, the Catholic Church is completely full of shit, but they're really not any worse than most other christian denominations. I saw this haunted house one time that was sponsored by the Christian Reformed Church. It was supposed to be all christian and doctrine oriented, and they had a display of a gay couple burning in flames for their "sins." It was pretty disturbing...those ignorant bastards

if you think about all the rules of the catholic church when it comes to family and everyday life...i think the chances of raising a beautiful, open-minded, respectful child is much higher in a household including gay parents, as opposed to the stereotypically perfect 'leave it to beaver' family.

i have a catholic mother and a jewish father. now, that really isn't kosher and both sides of my family technically believe the other is damned. but i think i'm a hell of a better person for experiencing both sides.

i think everyone should just accept people's choices and let love in. though it sounds flowerchild-esque. it's very true.
