Writer's Block: Where in the World...

 I would live in the USA, in a nice house sitting on some acreage outside of Philadelphia.  As for my time - I'd travel to my heart's content and work on my photography portfolio as well as visiting all the places I've seen in my dreams, meeting the people and immersing myself in the culture.

I would have to move all the people I want to be around on a regular basis too, but I would move to Hawaii. In a heartbeat. Maybe get a place on the Big Island or Maui, far enough from Honolulu to get the real Hawaii, close enough to catch a plane there for fun. And my sister lives just outside Waikiki.

A friend of mine desperately wants to move to Hawaii - Hilo specificly. His brother used to live there. I've never been but I've always wanted to go!

If you know anyone who lives there and can put you up, that's the way to go. The hotel expense is probably the biggest, so if you can eliminate that it's worth it to buy the plane ticket. Also, if they have a Hawaiian driver's license they can sometimes buy you tickets for tourist stuff at the local rate, which can be anywhere from 10-80% off. I once got the local discount on my own just because the place didn't have to pick me up at a hotel, I had a ride. Oh, and Hilo is cute. My sister's favorite market is there, right by the bay. She only likes coconut if it's fresh and cut open right in front of her, which they do there.

That's so cool! His brother doesn't live there anymore, he moved somewhere in South America, can't remember where. But he does still have some friends in the area.
