Here's a fun story about the most unprofessional professor ever: I know of a student who got an interview at a vet school. He then found out that he'd gotten into another vet school. Professor called the school he had the interview at (which was her alma mater) and told them he'd gotten into the second school and that he didn't want to go to her alma mater. This same professor has also been known to write recommendations for people stating that she didn't recommend them for whatever they were applying for. I never asked her for recommendations because while I think she liked me, it was extremely hard to tell and I didn't want to chance it.

Yeah, normal people just refuse to write the recommendation if they don't like the candidate.

Yea she is totally not normal. She also sent an e-mail to a former co-worker of mine "warning her that I was going to probably ask for a reference". My former co-worker is supportive of me and she wrote back stating that she would be happy to provide a reference for me. She never got a reply back. I've had to resist the urge to write back myself and tell her how completely not normal she is.

Ugh. People like that probably won't change whether or not you tell her.
