I hope to see you there to. I think I will be working in the AV crowd, the volunteer head has asked me if I want to blog for the weekend. Dunno if that will happen or if I will be asked to do something else. One thing is for sure, if you see Michael Shanks, you know I will probably not be far behind, LOL!

You might want to try and wean yourself off of fast food and junk food. To cut it all out in one fell swoop would be hard. I know it'd be for me. I like my fast food. :)

Sodas are a big culprit. I only drink water and diet sodas. I know there's controversy on diet drinks making you hungrier due to artificial sweeteners, but someone would have to pry the Diet Coke out of my cold dead hand, dammit. :P

Good luck with your weight loss! *sends encouraging thoughts*

Well I really don't eat that much fast food, my idea of fast food is usually Subway. So yea that shouldn't be too hard. As far as junk food goes I am not much a chip eater or cookie eater or candy. My weak spot is cheese. Mmmm cheese. Yummy. I also don't eat large portions either so I doubt diet sodas will make me hungrier. I am with you though, folks can have my Mountain Dew when they pry it from my cold dead fingers!

Prebag snacks. I sometimes weigh out a bunch of corn kernels into brown bags to air pop in the microwave. You can toss in salt, spices or splenda to make it sweet or savoury, and it kills a craving fow low calories.

Also carbs aren't so great. I love them too much to go Atkins style, but I found that switching my bread to a lower cal version and eating less of it helps a lot with shifting weight. Load up on veg obviously, less so on fruit because of sugars, and lean meats if you eat those, poultry is pretty good. I have a good friend who does atkins and it is extreme but he has lost over 80lb on it.

Also, if you have a smartphone, there are a heap of awesome food tracker apps. I love MyFitnessPal, it's online too if you don't have a smartphone. I've lost about 9lb this year with it, and since my parents started it a few months ago, they've also lost around 40lb each.

Yea I like carbs too much as well to go Atkins, though I am trying to cut down the carbs. I like your idea about corn kernels, where would I get something like that?

Hmmm, good question. Over here they are usually in the world food aisles with the Indian foods. Wholefoods shops tend to do them too.
