I need help from my lovely flist. I already know a few of your are signing up for the 2nd round at tardis_bigbang and some crazy part of my brain has also decided that this is a good idea, mainly because I don't really have a lot of creative writing on my course at the moment and I thought this would fill my writing criteria for the next few weeks

They both sound like really interesting ideas. I think the dynamics in the second would be harder, if you're looking for a challenge, but I'd be happy to read both.

Yeah I've been thinking about it today and I think the Rhys & Ianto one would be more fun to write. I think I'd get annoyed with myself eventually over the 2nd one... maybe set it as more of a long term project... we shall see.

I'm gonna be bad and say I like both ideas. However, I like "Damsels" more, especially if (and I have an inkling this may be in your brain), the reader is left to wonder which duo are the "damsels". On the other one, I'd write up a history for your female alien--this will keep you/her grounded and help avoid the Mary Sue pit. That's what I did when creating Elle and I think it's helped. At least, I don't think she's viewed as a Mary Sue....

Great minds think alike! ;) And I've gone with the 2nd idea. I did a plot outline as well and without giving too much away it's sort of Ianto and Rhys who save themselves in the end.

I think I might save the other idea for a rainy day though. I like the idea of someone turning Jack down about joining torchwood. And she's not an alien - I think you misread - she's just a regular doctor.
