Dandy sat on top of the storytelling hill. He looked around and sniffed the air. Whenever it was time to hear a story, the buns would gather on the hill, but there were always some that were close to Dandy himself. There was Flopsy Girl of course, and her sister Blackberry, Millie was there as was Cedric and beyond them other close friends. Dandy seemed to come to a decision and began to speak. "My friends" he said, then after a pause continued "We rabbits have an immense and complicated set of friends. Today, I am going to tell you all a story about two buns that I consider friends even though I have never met them." Dandy looked across at Cedric and said "When I came to the rainbow Bridge, Cedric moved in to look after Millie. I have always been grateful for this and therefore have always considered him my friend. Then, when Cedric joined us up here at the bridge, Smokey moved in to Cedric's old burrow to look after Annie, so I feel that Smokey is also my friend, and this story is about one of Smokey's friends and his Doe." Danny blinked when he emerged from the new tunnel. True, he was still on grass, but just beyond the grass was a path and a road, they really had broken through to the outside world. Mitzi followed Danny out of the tunnel and just like him her eyes were wide open while she took in all of the new sights and smells of the outside world. She turned to Danny and said “I think we should go back now. This could be dangerous and if we are to explore properly then we need to make detailed plans”. Danny reluctantly agreed and the buns went back through both tunnels emerging from behind the bushes in their own garden just as the 2-foots had come out to look for them “That was close” Danny said. “You are right Mitzi, if we are going to explore far and wide we need to plan so that we give ourselves enough time to get back without being missed

joyful leaps Mitzi journeyed on until she came to a telegraph pole with a white fluffy tail sticking out from behind it. She ran round the other side and was overjoyed to see Danny safe and sound

thank you Dandy for this great story. we love stories especially when there are tunnels and "on the other side" there are extraordinary countries. it allows to make beautiful discoveries and sometimes good friends. when Daddy was reading this story, sometimes Leonny went under the nest of 2foots, because she was afraid of the naughty woufff (woufff are almost always ugly) ......
