Current thoughts on the Bat family in the relaunch
Spoilers all the books includin Worlds' Finest.
Dick Grayson: From what I've seen there's not too much I like about Dick Grayson in the relaunch. He's not the goofy guy and feels more angsty. That just doesn't fit him. I do like the little bits he has with Damian because Dick should always been the big brother but I wish they'd show that side with more of his siblings.
Steph Brown/Cass Cain: Nothing from either one of these ladies. It stinks because I rather have either one of them over Barbara as Batgirl.
Barbara Gordon: She's like a completely different character. Yes I know she's recovering but it's not a good fit. After seeing how commanding she is as Oracle it feels, well, like a huge let down. I used to adore her now I don't want to see her at all.
Damain Wayne: The main problem I had with Damain was the fact that he was this troubled kid when Bruce already had a troubled kid in his life. One that died and he's pretty much ignored ever since UTH. Now there's another problem, one that I see turning up with the "new" Huntress too. The idea that none of Bruces' adopted kids are worthy/as important as them because their Waynes by blood. Damian doesn't bug me as much as the Barbara change but these are problems for me.
Bruce Wayne: Nothing new, the only thing that gets me is the same trait he had before the relaunch. Stop getting new kids if you ignore the rest and quit treating them like crap, Bruce.
Helena Wayne: From what I've heard she's not the same character as the one from 20 odd years ago. She's not Helena B. and it pisses me off that they had to kill off that character (off panel) to make way for this one. If Kara can have two counterparts why not Huntress, especially since one isn't a Wayne!
Tim Drake: I don't have a problem with how he's written. In some cases he's much more mature than he was before. (Not that it's hard since he punched his (ex?) girlfriend in the stomach prior to becoming Red Robin.)
Batwoman:Haven't read the new book yet. I was a fan of her from her first trade. I just hope she wasn't too mean to Bette. That would irk me greatly.
Jason Todd: I hated Winicks' last story, Morrisons' version, the crap in the Nightwing arc and BFTC. RHATO IS a HUGE impovement. The fact that there are actually ideas for the character, not to mention developing him past his UTH self, is a big relief. More than I hope for since DC couldn't understand grey areas before the relaunch.
