We learned a little about the relaunch Boosters' origins as someone hired him to steal SKS-1 and he attempted to use the time sphere to meet the buyer. This was disrupted by the guards accidently sending him into the past. Who his employer was and the identity of the professor who was apparently building the time sphere are never mentioned.
Rip Hunter meets New Booster and apparently Booster never heard of him before. For some reason Rip doesn't hide who his dad is (the older dad Booster from pre-Flashpoint) which brings up the question if new Booster will have a son. Rip isn't sure as he's not familiar with the new 52 world.
Dad Booster isn't doing so well as he absorbed too much temporal energy. As a result he can't stop traveling between different cities Brainiac set up of doomed timelines and he's dying to boot.
Michelle doing something useful with her powers even when Rip assumes she can't use them. And her determination to save her brother (dad Booster is the older version of her Michael who Rip explains is father to a ten year old Rip.)
New Booster calling attention to the oddness of Silver Age Superboy wearing panties which leads to Clark getting pissed and calling him a sicko.

Rip getting tired of the superhero misunderstanding leading to fighting nonsense and pushing them ahead in time to avoid the LOS.
I wish there was an actual reaction to meeting Michelle and his best friends' son from Ted. I do like his surprise that Booster settled down.
I thought Rip was awesome throughout this. Since he's not hiding his relationship with his dad it creates some moments we never got to see. Rip is willing to break the rules to save his dad even though dad Booster isn't willing to. He even calls new Booster out on being hypocritical about the rules since he already broke them which made things worse.
The things I didn't like happened in the second issue as some plot points seemed to change, there were some word bubble errors, pointless moments and an ending I didn't care for. A lot is left hanging and with no real announcements for Booster I'm worried they never will be. I adored the first issue which actually had me misty eyed at least three times. It's a shame the last part felt so rushed near the end. I liked the dynamic with the two Boosters, Michelle, Skeets and Rip. I felt that abruptly got pushed to the side at the end not helped by the twist.
