Baka! Life Update

Life update: I went to Japan and came back! The trip was not as fun as I had hoped, but it was not un-fun. Noah went on a hobo adventure perhaps worthy of its own post, but he has relayed his adventure to many of our friends already.

Recently I read this article about closing doors, which helpfully explains a lot about how I feel crippled by ( Read more... )

Just because you're not doing something now doesn't mean that you can't pick it back up at a future date. I'm not taking French classes right now because my schedule got to be too full, but I still think in French when I can and read/write/whatever... I haven't closed the door, I've just made it less of a priority. Choose one or two things, remember that you can change next semester. If anything slips away, you can either pick it back up (I'm re-learning 3D) or you'll find that it probably wasn't that important anyway... Never making a decision means that you are letting yourself be paralyzed! Don't do that!

Right now, in my downtime, I'm working on three things: jeerleading, working on tutorials in 3D and making stuff for my etsy store. I get a varying amount of time each week, so I just space things out. Today's giant email inbox purge (It's down to 10 emails! Everything else is archived and answered!) was mostly about sending out emails of or relating to jeerleading and work.

Thanks for linking that article.

Apparently it came at a time for me that I'm particularly receptive. I had just deleted some "friends" from Facebook that I don't really want to know the day-to-day details about. Also, I had earlier this month decided to close my etsy.com shop for the time being, and give away all the t-shirts I have at home. Then I had a bit of a job security question arise and was going to keep them around...after reading that I'm ready to burn that bridge. I can make new things that excite me more if the time comes.
