Timing is everything and I'm thankful that mine was good. Despite the years that have passed, I have to say that my loathing of "M" still burns more fiercely and brightly than a hundred suns. However, my Ryan and Ryan and Sandy bonding love trumps all so that I can still ignore what's most distressing. Sandy as Ryan's dad, no lower class status for Ryan, and actual unconditional love is golden. Having someone, especially Sandy, recognize Ryan's value in such sharp contrast to how Ryan had had to live and what he'd been misled to believe is priceless.

Thanks for listening to your muse. Good to know it's alive and well! I've always enjoyed your writing and this reminds me of how much- and how much I've missed it. Thanks again! I hope you had a wonderful holiday. : )

Thanks! It's been over seven years since I wrote any fanfiction at all, but recently I started rewatching some OC episodes on DVD. This site here got me back into it- it's run by friends I met through a blogger networking site and reminds me of the best things about TWoP. (And I did a guest recap for them- here. And now you know my real first name. :))

I didn't like Marissa, either- one reason why I love Season 4 so much! She was really the only major character I couldn't stand, so I enjoyed rewatching some S4 episodes. I've always been really touched by how Ryan's relationships with the Cohens develops during that season, especially the first few episodes, so this little fic just popped into my head when I rewatched.

Thanks for the links! I totally enjoyed your recap. As they say in The O.C., mad props. 'Twas fun to escape and read about the land of pre-peeled oranges, hairless pony love, alopecia pony support groups, "M" the character and "actress" and her horrible behavior/"acting"(???), and, of course, how life and everyone alive, seemingly, dump on Ryan, guilt Ryan, use Ryan, and so on. Honorable mention to how many Cabs of Contrivance does it take to do airport transport
