I found an article about Trileptal (i think it's written about Trileptal versus Tegretol as a medication). It seemed to pretty well cover the reasons doctors think it's so great:

I forgot until reading this another reason I like trileptal: no blood tests. So how has the increase gone for you?

well i've only gone from 300 to 450 and i just feel super sleepy, i have such a hard time getting up in the morning and staying awake all day....in2 days i go up to 600 and then see the psy so i'm guessing he'll increase is since i hear the avg dose is between 900 and 2400....so so far so good i guess!

i have another question for you......so how long after you started taking medication did you feel like you could have normal relationships, like sometimes i feel really uncomfortable going out places and esp where there are people that i don't know.....like i feel lonely but how do you know if you are ready to date anyone or anything like that?

yeah, i had one for like 2 days, then he said he needed space, whatever i just got a cat so everything should be alright!!!
