My own suspicion is that raising kids while worrying if you're doing the right thing would pass on the trait. If your heart is set on loving your kids and doing the best you can for them, you will. Any shortcomings you have or mistakes you make along the way are practically destined-- I do not think there has in the history of the world been a perfect parent. I'm not even sure what that would MEAN, being a perfect parent. This is just me speaking, but assume you're going to screw it up a little. Don't worry about whether it's going to happen because it will. You should worry if you've made a mistake and done nothing to correct it.
