One of the requirements for attending UH law is to have a laptop. I bought mine last week. This is the first laptop I have ever owned. After getting it I realized I would need to get MS Office so that I can properly format my papers/assignments.  I don't have MS of any kind on my desktop at home so I don't just have a copy sitting around. You can always get OpenOffice, for all your document-processing needs.

Yeah, but OpenOffice kinda...sucks. It's nowhere near as intuitive, more complicated than it needs to be, doesn't play as well with others as it claims to, takes forever to open the first time you use it each day and sometimes it tells you it's not running when in fact it is running and the fact that it's secretly running when it thinks it's not slows your computer down to an ever lovin' crawl. Pretty much, you get what you pay for.

(Can you tell I have to use OpenOffice on my work computer and it really irks me?)
