That was, without a doubt, one of the best Pirate!fics I've seen. Ever. I've just sat and read it all in one go, and am very glad to've done so. It was really quite amazing, with an exciting and enticing storyline and a veracity of character that is rarely matched in fanfiction. Thank you for putting this up and allowing we lovers of pirates to share in your vision.

*HUGS YOU*
Thank you SO much for such kind comments! :-) This story is terribly dear to my heart, so I just get all warm and squishy feeling inside, to hear another enjoyed it as well. I'm delighted that it held you to read the whole thing, and incredibly pleased that you stopped to leave such nice words. This is what I love about fan fiction - the ability to know someone is out there, reading. Thank you!! Cheers ~
I'd have to quote back the entire story if I were to tell you my favorite part. But maybe it's when Will had his own little boat and was learning how to be in command - it's not as large or grand as the Flying Dutchman, but it's more realistic, and at least he gets to live and be with Elizabeth.
I liked the sequels in their fashion, but really, this is far better, especially with respect to staying in-character and not having everybody turn on each other snapping and biting. I didn't care for that part of the sequels at all.
Thank you, thank YOU! What a wonderful reader you are! It's such a delight to know someone new found and is enjoying my stories. YAY! *g*
And to be honest, African Star will remain forever dear to my piratical little heart. It was the first - and only - novel-in-progress I ever wrote, but most of all, I simply loved the story. It was a gift from the muses, one I will forever treasure. Plus I also regret the way the movie sequels meant. I loved the conflict and personal collisions, but in the end? Everyone turning on each other suited me not at all. I prefer my version, here, even if it's now AU. :-)
Thank you again for reading and offering your comments. I'm so very pleased to meet you! Cheers ~
