Thank you! I was worried that it was actually something that had been done lots of times before, so I am even more chuffed it is a little bit new. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I loved this. It's very real that it would be how Rory's life was as a Centurion after "dying". He would fight to hold onto his memories until he really couldn't anymore.

I like that River saw him and gave him newfound hope. There she is, taking care of ol' dad :)

Thank you. I'm really glad you liked it. You have picked out just what I wanted from this story. I was in two minds about whether or not Rory could forget Amy, but it was integral to the story in my head. Goodness knows how many times I tried to re-write it to keep what I thought was important and in character.

The story started with a scene that isn't even here, when Rory gives River the message in the first place (it involved bowler hats for some reason), but it never seemed to fit into the narrative.

Oh... rambling a bit now. Bottom line. Thank you.

Your welcome! I didn't quite catch the whole thing with bowler hats, but overall I think I understood! :) This was very nicely done!

Don't worry about the bowler hats - obviously I wrote this with my brain away somewhere else. I shall blame late nights and overthinkin....

Thank you, thank you, thank you! As always...

Now I can go and read your fic, and the others in the challenge. I had to follow your example in the end and just turn off LJ and email and everything and write the damn story! So I've been the most uncommunicative little emailer/LJ-er for days. But I'm sort of pleased with how it turned out. I don't normally do present tense, and I might, one day, try this out in past-tense and see how it works. Until then this will have to do.

PS - that's just the pic to fit. Gave me such a warm smile to see it.

Always, sweetie.

Ohh, LJ and Tumblr and the like tempt one SO MUCH don't they? I'm just happy that this awesome fic is the result!

Struggling with one for TGWW (a tag fic) and I dunno if I'll ever get it right, but I'm poking it into submission. *Frowns at fic*

Your fic came out beautifully - and I expect no less of you *grins* if this doesn't ace it, I give up!

I'm glad it gave you a smile...love my Rory the Roman icon *squishes it*

Thank you. I'm really glad you liked it.

Funny - it was always supposed to be River's fic too. Then Rory took it over all to himself and relegated his daughter to a supporting role. The original idea for writing it was the image of River/Cleopatra flirting her way around the whole Roman camp and Rory being left out. Of course the Romans and Rory don't know why, but, well we know that River isn't flirting with her Dad!

I'm glad you liked the last line. Goodness knows how many times I re-wrote it until I thought it worked.
