(I typed bug hugs first. That's creepy. I just pictured a giant cockroach walking on it's hind legs towards you with it's "arms" extended.)
ANYWHO...it's tough to even realize that it's a good idea to talk to someone, so I commend you for getting to that point. Sadly, I think UT Southwestern has different insurance that TWU, so I don't know the process. If you're blue cross blue shield health select, give me a holler and I can tell you what to do.
Other than that, keep hounding your HR department to figure out what is covered. Dress in camo and face paint and go sit in their office if need be. (Yes, that's my answer for everything, but hey, it'll work someday.) :D
If you ever need anything or just want to chill, feel free to give me a call. I'm still in Denton and can easily head down into Dallas. Denton-206-5832
My mother collected ladybugs, so anything "bug" makes me think of those. :)
We have BCBS UTSelect (since we are part of the UT system and the whole state has the same), so it might be similar to yours. I will give you a holler sometime this weekend if the guy here doesn't message me back soon.
Even though you are on pain killers, you make a lot of sense and it is calming to know that others understand.
Our student services center has 4 counselors that come in at random times during the week (I think each of them has 2 or 3 shifts during the week). 2 male and 2 female. I had a female, and I have neglected going back because a: I don't remember her name and I don't want to get her again (although I can request one guys who was recommended by another student) and b: the appointments usually have to be made a week or two in advance and when I freak out, I need help NOW, not 2 weeks from now. I know that I need to just find someone and go in regularly for a few months until I am a little more stable, but when I freak out, I don't have time, and when I have the time, it is not that pressing.
So goal for me: find someone in the next week, either the recommended guy at student services or someone else and make an appointment, regardless of when in the next few weeks it can be, just to start the process.
