I've avoided becoming the engaged girl who talks about nothing but her wedding, and wanders around copying her married name. But I am appealing to my New England-based friends for some serious help. I hate wedding planning

you've planned your whole wedding in that paragraph!! I'm sure if you approached one of those apple orchardy people they'd definitely do something like that! All the decorations and stuff homegrown, I think you can do exactly that if thats what you want!
I gotta go work on my toast! and not the kind that comes from a toaster!
Your plan sounds just beautiful. I really like simple weddings, there's nothing worse or more tacky than hugely overblown, over the top occasions. Hmm, very little practical advice to offer though! There has to be a way to have the orchard idea, surely...
my baby-sitter from high school was married a few years ago in a place that i think you would love- i think i already told my mom to tell yours, but i don't know if she did. it was in a very rural area in Mass., and was basically in a huge open field that had a small man-made lake in the middle. there was a quaint little church at one end and a huge victorian house on the other. the ceremony was small and darling- full of people being invited to share their thoughts on becky and keith and symbolic candles and so forth. then the whole group pranced across the field blowing bubbles, and there was a big tent set up in front of the house. it was absolutely beautiful, but not overdone and tacky, and i think it would be perfect for you guys. tell your mom to ask mine for the exact location/name. good luck on all the plans!
i have some great wedding planning ideas, but i'm really short on time at the moment. remind me or write me a comment or something so i don't forget. If you like the panera style, they do cater. it's an option. if you like farm/apple orchard, a lot of places are willing to set up tents for big events. i've done a lot of planning in my day, hehe, but doing so lets me in on how a lot of things work. i'm so excited for you.
