Just kinda thrown out there into Idea Land:

Labyrinth
Blade Runner
The Dark Crystal
Highlander
Nightmare on Elm Street
TRON
Beetlejuice
E.T.
Ghostbusters
The Princess Bride
Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Shining
The Terminator
This is Spinal Tap
Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
The Blues Brothers
Buckaroo Bonzai
The Road Warrior
Splash
Robocop
V (Okay, TV series, not a movie)

And I found this thing about television in the 80's: http://www.nostalgiacentral.com/80/80tv.htm . There was quite a lot of it.

fun stuff to do with kid
anything art, if the he doesn't find art to frustrating and lieks art and stuff, my little brother is a lot older but when he was here we made kites, you can find directions online for sled kites and they are super easy to make and fly
also hide and seek, adrian and i played that a lot when he was 5
and umm i can't think of any more right now

as far as 80's goes i would find a sweater and cut it so it was all 80's and wear it inside out, with leggings and a skirt, the kinda poofy skirt, cuz i think those would be easy clothes to find

good luck and have fun

I'm trying to picture you in pink eyeshadow. It's not working. My brain refuses to go there.
