Also, I'm a relatively new fan too. I marathoned the first 5 1/2 seasons in December/January. So I've only been a fan for, uh, two months I guess? It's great, isn't it?! :D

I think this might be one of my favorite 'what ifs' that I've read concerning Cas rescuing Dean from Hell. I like how you describe how the angels see Castiel vs how Castiel's Father sees him- how he persues his fate rather then just letting it happen to him and jut how human that is.
"Dean Winchester," the visitor says, as calmly as though he had taken the next stool over at a bar.

He clears his throat a little. "Come here often?" he asks, because he might as well be brain-dead if he's going to give up being a smart ass.

"No," the other says simply. "We must leave."This bit just made me laugh. Because of course Dean is going a smart ass no matter what

Reading fanfic helped a lot with the characters. I've found that if you can get the dialogue (speech patterns and the like) to sound right, it covers a multitude of characterization sins.

I hope to write more, there's so many fun possibilities. ^.^

Awesome! My biggest worries about my writing regards a tendency to get all cerebral and talky and stuffy, so I'm really glad it didn't seem to drag.

Well, I started out in the Hairspray fandom. I've written Doctor Who, Chuck, Leverage, NCIS, Knight Rider, DC comics...I tend to drift towards small fandoms because in the big ones someone else has already written the kind of thing I want to read. 8)
