My attacker is out on a 'peace bond', which is similar to a restraining order. If he approaches me or harasses me, or sends anyone to do the same, he will lose his bond and go back to jail. Perhaps the terminology is different here, but does this mean that he's on that order until his trial, or is it a final order? I assume that he doesn't know your address, but does he know your name (is it on the formal charge)? Forgive me if I'm being too nosey asking all these questions, I just hope you're safe.

I imagine my name would have to be given on the formal charges, which would make it simple for him to find me. As far as the peace bond, I have no clue how long it'll stand after the trial. I'm worried about surviving from day to day.

I hope you're safe. If I could add to things I hope you'll look into, it's hand to hand combat and knife defense. As I study more about firearms in prep to get one, shoot it well, and handle it safely, I also see a lot of situations where if that doesn't work, and you can't defend yourself without it, it's trouble. Granted, merely brandishing one is enough to scare most people off in a run the other way. I hope he's smart enough to simply keep away, but I support your decision to go for bigger protection if that's what feels safe.
