Met with the DA today. The guy has a previous rape conviction as a juvenile which will probably not be admissible in court. The DA is fighting to up this to a felony charge, because he knows this was attempted rape, but also knows he's going to have a hell of a time proving it in court. I'm surprised that, with a previous rape conviction on his record, he doesn't have some kind of sex offender designation. Here any conviction for sex assault gets a person included in the sex offender registry. It's probably a good thing that the trial date is so soon. Here something like this would probably take a year to get to trial.

I hope you do whatever you think is necessary to keep yourself safe. You haven't done anything to attract this or bring this on yourself, the fault is entirely his.

He was convicted as a juvenile. Those records are sealed when the person turns 18.

The trial date is swift because of it being in municipal court.

This is not the first time I've been attacked, so I do question what exactly is going on that this continues to happen. I am also referencing how many people that I have interacted with in my life have been highly toxic and how many of these toxic people have caused me harm, either emotionally or physically.
