Since I last posted I have completed my first placement in an acute ward, been on two short holidays, and now enjoying some time off to completely unwind and get the house unpacked.
I did find the placement very tough at times, but also rewarding. It was excellent to see some people getting discharged cos they were ready to face the world again. One expert in the field wants to call the acute psychiatric ward a 'Safe haven' which I think is an excellent idea. It was good that I had a fellow student in my cohort with me for the placement as we supported each other.
I spent a few days in Cornwall camping, and got to go sailing and everything. Cream tea was also found, and I even swam in the sea. Came back via cool family member, and had a quick catch up.
Then me and Jason went off to Malham in yorkshire for a walking weekend with a few of Jason's work colleagues. Came back via York to see Jason's niece, and did some sightseeing.
The plan for the next few days is to get the house sorted (I hope) and get rid of the last of the boxes.
