First some backstory as to why this has been on my mind:  At Midrealm coronation a few weeks ago I was (jokingly) given to another Pelican for a month.  This was all said in good fun by my peer, but I ran with it, immediately cutting up the other Pelicans's (Master Straum's) steak, carrying some of his gear, and just generally being an overzealous

You know, I think most heralds would benefit from becoming Marshals. I think a lot of folks don't realize what it takes to be a good tournament herald - maybe because it's less fancy than being a court herald that people think maybe it doesn't take much knowledge/work, but it really does. The herald needs to understand how the list works, how the tourney is being run, and I think they also need to have a good eye for safety and the rules of the game. Now, lots of marshals don't understand how the list runs or what exactly the herald is doing and why and that's another thing all together :). The system runs best when everyone has a good idea of what it is that the others are doing.

So, what I don't see in this post is the plan for you moving back to Calontir... next post? :P
