I went to the Aquaterra practice today. Snow was on the ground and some streets were icy, so I knew I was taking a chance no one else would show.
Since I was alone at practice I spent the time doing sword and shield drills. It was time well spent.

I have a large number of drills that I use. The ones I used that practice were:
Sword blows working the angles of my shield. (I hold my shield out and throw blows that allow me to use the angles of MY shield. This is designed to teach me how to get around my own shield to throw any blow without moving my shield out of a good defensive position).
Moving forward and backward while adjusting my shield for best positioning.
Moving around the field in circle eights while throwing blows alternately high and low, while attempting to keep my shield in the best position.
Getting in to an ideal starting position and throwing a large variety of blows while moving my shield minimally.
Picking three or four points on a wall to practice thrusting from different distances and angles.
Blocking high and low for a count of 50 to build up strength.
Throwing a snap and wrap slowly for a count of 30 to work on balance and form.
