These two weeks at my son’s school is for parent teacher meetings, so they cut the days short and hustle the kids off early into the library to get them to buy books for the book faire fundraiser ( Read more... )

Well maybe they were more thinking on things that would raise money than raise interest in reading.......but that is so lame...

If it's like all the schools I've worked in, the school does not select the books in the book fair. They are packed and sent by the "book club." Probably Scholastic or Troll. For them it's just business, sad to say. They bring whatever sells best.
