Yes I loved that too. How a story is a combination of what the teller is saying and what the listener is hearing. And how all of our lives are just stories.
Also a fun tidbit. All the hospital scenes were shot consecutively at the beginning of the shooting. And because of a misunderstanding the production people told the crew that the male lead really was a quadriplegic. They decided to keep up that impression all through that shooting, and only at the end revealed that he could really walk.
I very much love this movie. I almost never go to a movie in the theater twice (if at all; I usually just rent), but I saw The Fall twice. It is so beautiful and sad at the same time. I may even buy it on DVD (also something that I rarely do).
