You know what's great about manga? You can start a chapter with a vague yet overdramatic statement said by no one in particular, and it never has to be explained. (Actually, you can probably do that in any Japanese media because the Japanese are vague and overdramatic.)

But Flaming Laurels is not a manga, so let's not be vague and overdramatic.
